Fforst history

Once upon a time there was an old panel flat building. Build within the glorious GDR times it started to suffer from a tenant shrinkage after the Fall of the Wall. More and more tenants either moved away or simply died. Lots of flats within the building started to suffer from emptiness.

Somewhere around the millenium years the WoWi (Wohnungswirtschaft Frankfurt Oder) decided to take that building down. In this time you could get money for destructing places for living, but a seminar with anschlaege.de at Viadrina University wanted to do something against it.

2006 some brave and motivated Viadrina students in this seminar decided to save that sad building and turn it into a lively place for students from all over the world. These pioneers managed to convince the WoWi to quit their plans of demolition. A nice WoWi staff member handed those pioneers keys out for the house and a new contract was signed between these parties.

fförster / fförsties From then onwards the habitants called themselves fförster or in plural fförsties. In German often the term fförsters is used for the plural form.

Over generation other words with "fförsti" in it were generated.

The Old fförsti

The Old-fförsti or German Alt-fförster is a former fförster who did enjoy this beautiful place by being a member.

The Good-fförsti The Good-fförsti is the security / awareness person from 9:30 PM onwards usually. The task is to keep the guests inside after 10 PM and to let our neighbours enjoy their sleep as well as deal with other incidents as fights, deals or use of hard-drugs, etc. Therefore you should tell other fförsties at the event to help you in such situations to reduce the harm to our guests & our place in general. Please do not feel shy to voice your concern to others the same night.
