Fforstschritt Division

The term fforstschritt is a combination of our own name fforst and the German word “Fortschritt” which means progress or progression. Obviously this department deals with the future developments of fforst, right!

General description of the department

Fforsts obligations, relations and commitments towards its legal and supporting partners will be discussed in this department. One of the constant involvements of fforstschritt is to stay in touch with our landlord Wohnungswirtschaft Frankfurt (WoWi) for upcoming projects such as renovations and the general maintenance of the house. It improves the communication to partners, institutions and organizations in the city and beyond. Namely the Europa-Universität Viadrina, the city council, the city marketing, the Studierendenparlament (Stupa) and the Allgemeiner Studentischer Ausschuss (AstA) are friendly supporters of our project. Nevertheless the department constantly tries to promote cooperation, find sponsorships and raise funds. To envision, to establish and to strengthen long-term developments are its main focus.

• Discuss and organize the renovation of the house together with Wohnungswirtschaft (DONE?)

• Create a new design and set up a website under fforst.org (DONE)
• Establish a journal of decisions (Beschlussbuch) of the assemblies
• Collect information of the past fforst members (first name, nationality, time of stay at fforst) (PENDING)
• Renewal of the doorbell panels (NOT DONE YET)
• Emphasize the photographic documentation of our doings (PENDING?)
• Develop realistic solutions for the air conditioning of the EventEtage (NOT DONE YET)
• Renewal of the mail boxes (DONE)
• Redecoration of the EventEtage (PENDING)
• Small renovations of the balconies (NOT DONE YET)
• Prepare understandable and inviting information sheets for the usage of the washing machines (NOT DONE YET?)
• Prepare sheets for the main entrances that remind people of closing the doors properly (DONE)
• Care about our little garden in front of the entrances (DONE)
• Encourage and support the fförsters to use the fforstcloud (PENDING)
• Offer a Photoshop-Workshop for interested fförsters (DONE)
