The „Gesellschaft für musikalische Aufführungs- und mechanische Vervielfältigungsrechte“, which means association for musical performing rights and mechanical rights of reproduction, short GEMA; is the association that is protecting the rights of musicians in Germany.
GEMA offers tariffs for different kinds of events. You can inform yourself on their website or via phone. GEMA fees therefore need to be taken into consideration when planning a public event at fforst or fforst as a host. If fforst is not submitting the tariff before the event - can be done easily via email - it occurred quite often in the past so that we had to pay double due to costs of controls. This shall be prohibited by the event manager from the PR-Division by always informing the fförster / fförsties about it. Therefore, deadlines are set by him/her to make sure that this applies.
