Have you just moved into fforst? Here you will find some useful information for your first days at your new home.
Important General Information:
Weekly Assembly: These are on Mondays at 8 pm in the EE (they are mandatory). Don't be late!
Email Distribution List: There is a distribution list. You should ask The Board to get into it. This is important since through the Distribution List you can get all the important information of the project.- There is a whatsapp group and a telegram group (these are not mandatory, but you can ask to be included in case you want to)
Sunday Brunch: Normally we have a brunch in the EE on Sunday at 11 am. Everybody brings something from his/her fridge! Sharing is caring :)
You can use fforst stuff (furniture, for example): Whenever you want to use something from the fforst house - just use it, but after using it, put it back where it belongs to and in case you use a room, tidy it up! (kitchen, Smokers` Room, library, beamer area)
1. Get a “house-tour” through fforst:
It might be cool to get to know your neighbors in your new home, so why not knocking some doors to say hello and introduce yourself to an “Old-fförsti / Alt-fförster”? Be aware that in house 3/3/L lives Mr. Schulz, and he is not a fförster, so you might not be willing to bother him. You can also go downstairs to have a look at the EE: you'll find out that we have different spaces, such as the smokey Smokers` Room, our laundry room, the stuff room, the bar, the kitchen, the beamer area, the office, the technic room and the library.

In the basement(s), you would possibly find some furniture for your room. Please be aware that in case you want something from there you should inform The Board and also check that it has no name tag on it. If you think that what you found there belongs to someone, please send an email around or ask at the assembly, if you can take it.
2. Trash:
Remember that in Germany there is a [[waste separation system], meaning that each kind of trash (carton/paper, glas, plastic and metal, waste, organic) has a specific trash bin. You can identify them through their colors:
Carton/Paper (Altpapier): (BLUE) here you can put your old magazines, catalogues, brochures, books, your eggs-packs, paper in general and your cartons, boxes and so on. Remember that if the paper is dirty you should put it in the “waste” bin (Restmüll). Where? Next to the hairdresser.
Plastic, metal and other packagings: (YELLOW) Here you can put all your plastic bottles and containers, packagings such as tetra-packs, aluminium foil, bags, cans, plastic cups, etc. Remember that the bins are also yellow. Where? In front of our terrace you can find the bins. To open the door use the key of the main door.
Waste: (GREEN) In this bin you are gonna put all your non-recyclable waste such as ceramics, broken glass, left overs, medicines, cotton, toothbrushes, cigarettes, vacuum cleaner bags, etc. Where? In front of our terrace you can find the green bins for waste. To open the door use the key of the main door.
Organic waste: (BROWN) In this one you can put all your kitchen and garden waste such as food leftovers, egg shells, filter bags, leaves and foliage from your plants, flowers, etc. Where? In front of our terrace you can find the bins. To open the door use the key of the main door.
Glas: Your old glass bottles and jars should be thrown away in another container. There you should sort them by color as well (blue glas can be consider green). Remember that porcelain, lightbulbs, mugs, and glas of a different color (a color that is not braun, green, blue or transparent) should be put in “waste” (Restmüll). Also, remember to respect the times to throw glas away, we don't want to disturb our neighbors. Where? You have to walk a little bit, it’s on “Carl-Philipp-Emmanuel-Bach-Straße”.
Clothing: Your old clothing can be put into the Red-Cross container which is next to the Paper container.
If you have big things such as bulky trash, you have to inform The Board and organize a bulk-trash container.

3. Laundry:
We have a laundry room in the EE. You can find it next to the Smokers` Room. What you need to know is, that whenever you are ready for doing your laundry, you have to put your name in the lists hanging on the wall of the laundry room in order to reserve one time-lapse for your laundry.
After your laundry, please remember to let the doors of the washing machines open so we can avoid smell and mould.
4. Renovating:
In case you need tools to renovate your room, you can find everything you need in our Stuff Room. Remember to bring back all the tools you borrowed from fforst. If you want to renovate your room, please be aware that you can’t be loud after 10 pm and you are not allowed to be loud on Sundays and Holidays.
